Basel defeated nearest challengers Lucerne 1-0 to move six points clear at the top of the Swiss  Super League. Marco Streller scored the only goal after 70 minutes in the top-of-the-table fixture, with the win giving Basel a healthy advantage over their second-placed opponents. Neuchatel Xamax climbed into the top five with a 3-1 win over bottom side Lausanne. Victor Sanchez (29) and Javier Arizmendi (45) gave the visitors the lead at the interval and, although Figueiredo Gleidionor pulled a goal back for Lausanne after 74 minutes, Kalu Uche wrapped up the points eight minutes from time.
