Rummenigge rules out Bayern signings
Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has announced that the club will not be making any signings in the summer transfer window. By ESPNSTAR.com staff The Bavarians have added Xherdan Shaqiri, Dante, Mario Mandzukic and Claudio Pizarro to their squad over the summer and Rummenigge believes that the current set of players will be enough to see them through the 2012/2013 campaign, where they will seek to better coming in as runners-up in the Champions League, Bundesliga and the DFB Pokal last season. “We have two players for every position – this is our squad for next season,” Rummenigge told Bild. “Unless [coach Jupp] Heynckes or [director Matthias] Sammer request an addition, we have accomplished all our transfers before the August 31 deadline.” Rummenigge also denied the rumour over the departure of star winger Arjen Robben, saying: “The debate over his transfer status is unnecessary. He will be staying with us 100 percent.” Bayern Munich will begin their new season against newly-promoted side Greuther Furth on 25 August.
