Newcastle target Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa is reportedly set for AC Milan after the Italian giants launched a £5.1million move for the Montpellier defender. The centre-back has been linked with Newcastle, Borussia Dortmund and Milan after starring as Montpellier won the French championship last season. But L’Equipe have claimed that Milan are confident of beating their rivals to the 23-year-old having already agreed terms with the player. Milan are keen on signing a central defender to replace Thiago Silva, who has moved to Paris Saint Germain, and have made Yanga-Mbiwa their top target. And that is likely to rule out Newcastle from the running for the former France Under-21 international.
