AEK appoint Vlachos as new coach

AEK Athens have appointed former player Vangelis Vlachos as their new coach on a one-year contract. Vlachos, 50, played for AEK for five seasons, winning the Greek Cup in 1983. He was also a member of the Panathinaikos team which won the Greek title in 1986, 1990 and 1991, the Greek Cup in 1986, 1988, 1989 and 1991, and the Greek Super Cup in 1988. Among the clubs he has previously coached are Xanthi, OFI Crete, Panionios and Asteras Tripolis.
