Claudio Pizarro undergoes Bayern medical
Claudio Pizarro has completed a medical examination ahead of his much-anticipated move to Bayern Munich , Bild reports. The 33-year-old striker has long been linked with a move to the Bavarian giants, with sporting director Christian Nerlinger having previously admitted that “the transfer is as good as done”. And now it has been revealed that he has received the all-clear from the Bayern medical team. Pizarro, whose contract with Werder Bremen expires at the end of June, is expected to put pen to paper on a one-year contract when he returns from his native Peru in June. A former Bayern player from 2001 to 2007, Pizarro is the Bundesliga’s all-time leading foreign goalscorer, having found the net 160 times in 333 appearances in the German top flight. He is seen as a replacement for Wolfsburg-bound Ivica Olic and a backup to first-choice striker Mario Gomez.
