Kaiserslautern have parted company with coach Marco Kurz. The side lost 4-1 at home to Schalke at the weekend, a result which has forced Kaiserslautern to opt to change horses. Kurz leaves Kaiserslautern sitting bottom of the Bundesliga and in a serious fight for survival. The club have picked up just 20 points from 26 games and are a full six points off safety. “In order for us to exhaust all possible options to stay in the Bundesliga, we need to try going down another route” , said Kaiserslautern chairman Stefan Kuntz. Kaiserslautern are next in action in the Bundesliga on Saturday, with a crucial away trip to fellow strugglers Freiburg on the menu.
