Borussia Dortmund tell Chelsea Klopp is going nowhere
Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has made it clear that head coach Jurgen Klopp will not leave the Bundesliga champions to join Chelsea . The 44-year-old Klopp is reportedly one of the candidates to replace caretaker-manager Roberto Di Matteo as Chelsea boss at the end of the 2011-12 campaign, but Dortmund have affirmed that they have no intention of releasing their successful coach. “I don’t care what Chelsea are doing. Chelsea are not an issue for us. Jurgen Klopp is going nowhere,” Watzke was quoted as saying by Bild . “We will keep working together, regardless of what happens. That’s Jurgen’s point of view, and my opinion as well. He did not recently sign a new contract until 2016 without a reason.” Klopp joined Dortmund in 2008 and led the club to sixth and fifth place finishes in his first two seasons before guiding them to the Bundesliga title last season. BVB currently sit top of the German league table with a five-point lead over Bayern Munich, and reached the final of the DFB Pokal final on Tuesday.
